Jibon Theke Neya
This film is a political satire based on the setting When Bangladesh was part of Pakistan, also known as East Pakistan. The film portrays the metamorphic character in an autocratic woman symbolizing the political dictatorship of Ayub Khan in East Pakistan.
It is one of the finest works of Satyajit Ray, and it had managed to win several awards when it was released. This tragic drama won Mrinal Sen two prestigious international awards, i.e. Special Jury Prize at the 1983 Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Spike Award at the International Film Fest in Valladolid.
